Ingredients

  • 650 g. of 80%-20% (and up to 70-80) ground beef chuck (meat-fat ratio)
  • Seseame seed buns
  • 3 tbsp. Mayonaise
  • 1 tbsp. Yellow mustard
  • Red Hamburger Relish (see recipes)
  • Tomatoes
  • American cheddarr
  • Shredded Lettuce
  • Sliced dill pickles
  • 1 onion per burger
  • Bacon fat oil or olive oil for the faint of heart

Assemble in this order


Bottom Bun

  • Mayo
  • Hamburger Relish
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Hamburger patty with melted cheese
  • 1 entire caramelized onion

Top Bun

  • Mayo
  • Mustard


Caramelized onions

Coat the bottom of the pan with bacon fat oil or olive oil, or a mixture of olive oil and butter (about 1 teaspoon per onion). Heat the pan on medium high heat until the oil is shimmering. Add the onion slices and stir to coat the onions with the oil. Spread the onions out evenly over the pan and let cook at medium low for about 45 minutes or until the onions are brown and soft.
