How to Cook Rice
On the Stove
Recipe from Chouette's veterinarian
- Put rice in lots of water.
- Boil until half cooked (5 minutes)
- Drain water, put on the stove (low heat) for 5 minutes.
- Let stand for 5 minutes.
In a Rice Cooker
Recipe from Yves
- 1 cup of rice, well-rinsed with cold water
- 2 cups of water
- Put in the rice cooker and press cook.
- When the button changes to "keep warm," open the lid, mix the rice, and then close it again. You can also unplug the rice cooker.
On the Pan

- 1 cup of rice, well-rinsed with cold water
- Add enough water to cover the rice well
- Cook until the rice is translucent (about 5 minutes)
- Remove the water using a sieve and cover for 5 minutes

Dans un rice cooker

- 1 tasse de riz bien rincer à l’eau froide
- 2 tasses d’eau
- Mettre dans le rice cooker et peser cook.
- Quand le bouton change à « keep warm » ouvrir le couvercle et mélanger le riz et ensuite refermer. On Peu aussi débrancher le rice cooker.
Sur la poêle
Recette Caroline Rioux
- 1 tasse de riz bien rincer à l’eau froide
- Ajouter assez d’eau pour bien couvrir le riz
- Cuire jusqu’a ce que le riz soit translucide (environ 5 minutes)
- Enlever l’eau a l’aide d’un tamis et couvrir 5 minutes
