Beef Chop Suey

(Recipe by Jovette)


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of roughly chopped onions
  • 2 cups of diagonally sliced celery
  • 1½ cup of beef, turkey or chicken broth
  • 500g of lean ground beef
  • ½ cup of cold water
  • 2 tsp of soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • 500g of sprouted beans
  • 1 tsp of olive oil
  • 1 tbsp of cornstarch

Preparation

Put onions, celery, broth, and beef into a large pot.

Stir gently, cover, and cook over low heat for about 5 minutes.

Mix together the cold water, cornstarch, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.

Pour this mixture over the beef while stirring.

Then add the sprouted beans, gently mix and cook for 5 minutes.


Chicken or Turkey Chop Suey

Replace the beef with 2 cups of already cooked chicken or turkey.

Add ½ cup of fresh cubed pineapple (optional) and ½ cup of almonds (optional).

For the chicken, I buy breasts that I cut into cubes and cook in the pan before using them.
